Turkish Sage is a hardy perennial that originates from Turkey. It belongs to the mint family (Lamiaceae). The plant has a distinctive flowering habit that makes it easy to recognize. Its beautiful yellow flowers grow in whorls, forming tiered layers around the stem. The soft yellow to bright yellow flowers rise above lightly hairy, heart-shaped leaves that range from grey-green to green. The plant grows to a height of about 75 - 120 cm and adds strong structure to a garden. Turkish Sage is highly attractive to bees, butterflies, bumblebees, hoverflies, and other beneficial insects. Birds also benefit from its seeds in winter. It flowers from June till August. Hardy perennial.
