Amsoi is a popular leafy vegetable widely used in Surinamese and Asian cuisine. It is also known as Indian mustard. The plants remain loose-leafed and doesn't form heads. The leaves have a distinctive, mildly spicy, mustard-like flavour and are suitable for both fresh salads and cooked dishes. Amsoi is rich in nutrients and pairs well with meat, fish, poultry and vegetarian meals. The harvested leaves can be stored in the refrigerator for several days. Amsoi is easy to grow and performs well in open ground, but is equally suitable for raised beds, large containers and balcony planters.
