Belgian endive

Belgian endive is also known as French endive and witloof. This is an easy to grow and well-known vegetable. It contains a large amount of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. And a large amount of vitamin c. The slightly bitter flavour of Belgian endive combines well with cheese, apple, potatoes, eggs, chicken, milk, ham, beef, nuts, honey, salmon, tomatoes, oranges, bell pepper, leek, onions and mandarins. You can cook, stir-fry, grill, steam, stew and braise this very versatile vegetable. Belgian endive is delicious in casseroles or raw in salads.
