The litchi tomato is an exotic and unusual family member of the tomato, aubergine and potato. You can grow the litchi tomato very easily in our colder climate. You got to give it enough sunlight and warmth. The fruits grow in light green, spicky husks. They open when the fruits are ripe. The flavour of the fruits is, when they're harvested too early, very sour and fresh. But the flavour of the fruits, when they're ripe, is very sweet and spicy. The riper the fruits are, the sweeter the flavour. Use the litchi tomato as fruit, in tarts, cakes, in desserts and at breakfast. It's delicious in exotic fruit salads and in fruit punch.
