Cape daisy is a striking annual ornamental plant that originates from South Africa. It belongs to the daisy family (Asteraceae). The plant has silvery grey-green, finely divided foliage, long, thick, sturdy grey-green stems and large daisy-like flowers with a dark centre. The flowers are highly suitable for borders, containers, and as cut flowers. The plant grows best in full sun in well-drained, moderately fertile soil. It is very attractive to bees, butterflies, bumblebees, and other beneficial insects. Cape Daisy flowers from July through September.
