Legumes are a large group of plants. They've in common that the seeds of the pods are eaten and in some cases the whole pods. Legumes are i.a.: lentils, broad beans, snow peas, French beans, dry beans, kidney beans, pinto beans, marrow fat peas, chickpeas, soybeans and string beans. Legumes are all very different, but they all are rich in carbohydrates, proteins and fibres. That makes them great meat substitutes. Legumes belong in your vegetable garden. They are very easy to grow .
