Red Hot Poker

Red Hot Poker, also known as Torch Lily, originates from Africa. Despite its fiery and exotic appearance, this striking plant is easy to grow in temperate climates. It produces tall, eye-catching flower spikes in vibrant colours, making it a beautiful focal point in gardens, borders, and flower beds. It is also ideal for brightening up a dull wall, fence, or garden screen. Red Hot Poker is an excellent and long-lasting cut flower. It combines beautifully with Fountain Grass, Daylilies, and ornamental grasses. Cut the plant back to about 10 cm above the ground in spring and regularly remove faded flowers to encourage continued blooming. Red Hot Poker flowers from July through October.
