This cultivated variety of catnip has lovely lemon scented leaves. It can be used to make tisane famous for it's soothing properties. The tea is often used in medicin against fever, bronchitis, asthma and the common cold. The colour of the flowers varies from white to white with purple spots to light blue. Catnip lemon is also a favourite of bees, butterflies and of course of cats.

Sow outdoors in may (avoid frosts) or sow indoors from april on. Thin the seedlings to 30 cm or transplant them to 30 cm apart.
Catnip is a hardy perennial in our climate. Like a lot of it's relatives from the mint family, catnip overgrows weaker plants. Needs a very sunny and sheltered spot with good free draining soil. Catnip is loved by bees, butterflies and of course by cats.
