Turnip greens

Turnip Greens are a delicious, flavoursome, and fast-growing leafy vegetable that can be harvested very early in spring. This traditional spring vegetable is easy to grow and has a fresh, mildly spicy, mustard-like, and aromatic flavour. Turnip greens are especially popular in traditional mashed potato dishes, but they are also delicious in salads, stir-fries, soups, and as a tasty alternative to spinach. Turnip greens grow exceptionally quickly, making them ideal for gardeners who want fast results. They can be harvested approximately 28 - 35 days after sowing. By sowing several times throughout the season, you can enjoy a continuous supply of fresh turnip greens over a long period.  This easy-to-grow leafy vegetable is suitable for both beginner and experienced vegetable gardeners. Regular sowing ensures a continuous harvest of fresh leaves. The plants require little maintenance, although moist soil and a weed-free growing area will produce the best results. Protect young plants from slugs and flea beetles. Turnip greens are not only delicious but also practical: they can be prepared shortly after harvesting, and the leaves are excellent for freezing.
