Soak the seeds 24 hours before sowing in tepid water. This helps with germination. It is also possible to pre-germinate the seeds. Place them in a bowl of warm water and let the water stand to halfway the height of the seeds. Refill often because the seeds take a lot of water in. The seeds grow thiny roots from about 1 cm long after 3-4 days. Sow these seeds indoors.
Sow outdoors from march on 60 - 120 cm apart in rows. 60 cm for the low-growing varieties and 120 cm for the high-growing varieties.
Transplant them on a plot where no peas have grown for at least 2 years prior. Transplant them when they are about 10-15 cm tall and give them support.
