This type of melon originates from Italy. The plant produces fruits with a light yellow skin and a fine network on this skin. The fruits are large and oval-shaped and weigh about 2 kg each. The seeds are embedded in an orange-beige rim and the flesh of the melon is creamy-white and very sweet, juicy and highly aromatic. There is no space between the seeds and the flesh. Melon is related to the courgette, cucumber and pumpkin. It is a so-called fruit vegetable. Melons contain many healthy nutrients such as: protein, fibre, carbohydrates and few calories. Eating a piece of melon makes you feel satiated for longer. This is useful if you want to lose weight. Melon also contains a lot of water.

Melon is a very healthy vegetable and contains the vitamins A, B6, B11, B5 and B5, among others: A, B6, B11, B12, C, E and K. And the minerals: calcium, iron, potassium, copper, manganese, magnesium, sodium and zinc. Melon can be baked, barbecued, grilled, added to salads, soups, casseroles and stews. Add the melon at the last moment so that the structure does not change too much. You can also add melon to smoothies, desserts, breakfast, fruit salads and other dishes. You can also make ice cream with melon.  Melon is very tasty with: serrano ham, feta cheese, ham, beef, chicken, pork, olive oil, almonds, mint, chives, honey, balsamic vinegar, strawberries, blueberries, yogurt, bamen, raspberries, pistachio nuts, apple, pears, ricotta, cottage cheese, red wine vinegar, cumin, pineapple, bananas, sugar, orange, lemon, redcurrants, sardines, dill, crème fraîche, mustard, peaches, buttermilk, goat cheese, eggs, coconut milk and sherry. And with other vegetables such as: rocket salad, cucumber, lettuce, mixed lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, red onions, fennel, onions, garlic, carrots, green beans, mangetout and corn salad. Melon should not be kept in the refrigerator as it disturbs the ripening process. Melon can be frozen and then kept for 12 months. You can keep a melon at room temperature for about 5 - 7 days.
