Sowing coriander

Using coriander seeds

You can eat both the leaves and seeds of the coriander plant. The leaf of coriander has a distinct flavour that not everyone likes. The young and pretty leaves are the tastiest. The older, ferny leaves taste a bit bitter. The stalks can also be finely chopped and used in meals.

When the coriander plant eventually starts flowering, hardly any fresh leaves are formed. But even then the plant is still useful. The seeds ripen and can be cut off to dry.
