Corn salad Grote Noordhollandse is a organically grown corn salad variety and it has large elongated dark green leaves and it forms loose rosettes. The leaves are tender with a delicious slightly nutlike flavour. Use raw in salads, soups and stews. Can also be cooked or stewed as a vegetable. Noord-Hollandsche Groote has a good cold tolerance and can witstand mild frosts. It is rich in vitamins and minerals. Can be harvested in mild winters from summer till spring.

Corn salad has to be sown outdoors, because the tender rootsystem doesn't respond well to transplanting. Sow outdoors from the beginning of August. Sow in rows approx. 10 - 15 cm apart, to make it easier to remove weeds. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil (light germinator). Sow in rows about 10 - 15 cm apart, this to make weeding easier.
