Radish French Breakfast is an organicaly grown, fastgrowing, elongated radish variety. The elongated radishes are bright red and they've a contrasting white tip. The crispy flesh has a very delicious, mild flavour.
Radish is a very healthy vegetable and contains various vitamins and minerals. Vitamins A, B3, B5, B6, B9, B11, C and K. And minerals including calcium, iron, potassium, copper, magnesium, manganese and sodium. Also, like many vegetables, radishes are low in calories but high in fibre. Radishes can of course be used raw in all kinds of dishes, but also stir-fried, steamed and baked. Keep cooking times short so as not to lose the crispness. Radish leaves are also edible and can be stir-fried, used in stews, stews, soups or prepared as an alternative to spinach. Radish tastes delicious in combination with cheese, eggs, mayonnaise, ham, bacon, chicken, beef, pork, olive oil, salmon, mackerel, apple and tuna. And other vegetables such as: chicory, lettuce, tomatoes, potatoes, spring onion, garlic, spinach, broccoli, sweet potato, beetroot, rocket and French beans. Non-hardy annual.

You can sow outdoors under glass from February on. Use special fleece and flodderfole (this is transparent plastic with holes in it). Sow thinly and not to deep. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil. This way the seeds take a longer while to germinate and to develop. Air the seeds every day for about 15 minutes. Sowing outdoors can start from March or April (after frost) untill September.
Sow the seeds thinly, about ½ - 1 cm deep and leave about 5 cm apart between the rows. After the seeds have germinated, they can be thinned out further so that each seedling is 3 cm apart and nice radishes can form.
Sow, for a long summer of radishes, about every week a couple of rows. Radish doesn't need much fertilizer, You can use a good compost before sowing. To much fertilizer can cause the radishes to go spongy. After harvesting, radishes can be kept in the refrigerator for about a week. Remove the leaves as they will cause the radishes to soften more quickly.
