Painted Tongue has a very exotic appearance, yet it can be grown successfully in cooler climates. The flowers are excellent for use as cut flowers. Harvest them before the blooms are fully open for the best results. This beautiful flower is not only suitable for gardens; it also grows well in large flower pots and planters, making it ideal for balconies. Be sure to provide the plants with plenty of water, a sunny location, and a weekly application of liquid plant fertilizer. Painted Tongue flowers from May through August.
